Same thing happened to me a few months ago with Lumix-Leica 12-60. My fault, I dropped it and in a way it is better that the lens mount breaks rather than the camera mount. Maybe engineered that way.
The bad news is that likely they cannot repair it locally so it will go back to Japan for repair (now standard practice), and they will offer to sell you a refurbished one. Which likely is almost the same price as a used lens on Ebay. :(
Hopefully you get a better result than me.
I picked this up about 3 weeks ago, it quickly became my favorite lens for a number of applications. Unfortunately, yesterday, I pulled the GH5 with lens attached out of a camera backpack and the lens felt loose. I removed it and found a small piece of the lens mount on the lens side broken off. It is cheap plastic, which seems odd for a $1,100+ 'Leica' lens. I've never had a lens break on the mount, ever. The bag was carried on, not hit, no pressure applied, nothing. I am filming a travel show, on the road until mid-August, but I guess I'm hoping Panasonic will do something about it. The lens sort of still works but changes wildly aperture and what not when the contacts loose contact with the body. I doubt this a problem for all of the lenses, but it is surprising, and makes me think in investing in glass for the Eva, instead of continuing to kit out the GH5 with Lumix Leica glass.
The 1970's-1980's era Nikon primes I use on both cameras are still trucking fine, of course.

Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8–18 mm f/2.8–4 ASPH. is one if very interesting ultra wide-angle lenses available on the market. It is a solid choice, with good aperture fastness, physically small and handy, allowing you to use filters with a normal diameter. It is also characterized by an excellent image quality in the frame center and a very good correction of the majority of optical aberrations.

I wonder how this 8-18 f2.8 lens at 8mm measures up to the Laowa 7.5mm at f2 and f2.8? I like my Olympus 9-18, but would like to have a 2 or 2.8 for UWA low light use. I prefer small lens so the Laowa looks really interesting to me. The 8-18 is big and heavier compared to the Laowa 7.5 but the quality of the images is what is really important. So how do they compare?

Lens is a little soft wide-open at 18mm, where it's best used stopped down for the best results, there's some predictable barrel distortion at 8mm, and it is susceptible to flare when shooting directly into the sun, but otherwise it delivers fantastic sharpness at all focal lengths, even at the edges of the frame.
