Cage
As far as I remember it connects to top handle.
Will the control grip work as a lanc without the cage? I have a GH4 with a yagh unit for a Rode shotgun mic and wireless system. Unfortunately, the cage is not an option, and I'm wondering if I can connect the control grip to the remote port on the GH4?
Make sure to check follow focus review
As far? As long as you can have a cable. There are extension cables for the cables supplied.
It is possible to focus with electronic M43 lens. With the LANC cable connected to the cage and it powered by the USC-C port. The hand grip will do a one shot focus just like the shutter button on the camera. Hold it down and it Auto Focus until you let go. Did it in video.
Waiting to see viewfinder.
My understanding is it can be very far, you just need audio extension cable.
But we need to make test later.
On their own example setups there is a round EVF shown, do you know what it is?
Their prototype OLED EVF. We talk about in video.
I have two questions for this rig,
1- How far can you control with that handle on the camera? Is focus possible with an electronic lens? It is a panasonic specific question but for certain projects I might prefer any camera whih can do that (Focus/zoom/iris) remotely.
2. On their own example setups there is a round EVF shown, do you know what it is?
Second part of our review with focus on smart handle and shoulder pad
The end of that first video seems to indicate there's still no focus support on GH cameras
Read comment on youtube page. As I understand manufacturer all must work.
We did not get cables and handle yet. Wait a little, we'll have detailed second video on it all.
Small addition - you can use cage with XLR addon see

Maybe a full GH4 Setup? With everyone going out and getting the GH5, I'm sure people are clamoring for GH5 gear reviews, but I have no plans to get one for at least a year. I am, however, seriously considering this JTZ setup as my go to rig, assuming it is fully compatible with the GH4.
