Cameras prices to rise around 15-20% in UK and EU
  • Yahoo Finance reports that the pound has fallen by more than 15% against the Japanese yen since the Brexit vote on 23 June. It is now worth 131 yen – down from 155

    Roscoe Atkins, managing director of Park Cameras, which runs stores in London and West Sussex, warned that prices could rise as much as 15%, from August.

  • Why recently prices started to rise across all countries? Europe and Canada was first, now UK.

  • Nikon price increase is coming to the UK on August 1st due to falling value of the British Pound. Price increase will be across the board and will include all Nikon products.

  • In August Canon, Nikon and Sony will increase the price on cameras and lenses by up to 20%.

  • Computers will follow

    Asustek decided to raise prices in the UK by 9% in October, Acer not yet reached a final decision. Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Dell both recently announced they will increase PC prices in the UK by 9-10%.

  • Due to exchange rate movements almost all Sony camera products will increase in price by around 10%.
