Unicode 9.0 adds 19 characters dedicated to contemporary television features

    In what I consider the most bizarre and unnecessary addition to the Unicode Standard ever, 19 "characters" were added with Unicode 9.0 that represent TV-related features, such as "4k" and "8k".

    See this PDF document, especially pages 2 and 5, the new additions are highlighted in yellow.

    It seems to me that the forum software has issues displaying text containing the newly introduced Unicode characters. Will edit them out of the above article.
