Sometimes simple, sometimes naïve, but proper thing.

  • Pushing Daisies, series

Weird, colorful, original and unusual. From the creator of Dead Like Me.

  • Game Change

Fun film showing US politicians as who they really are - actors and bad ones.

  • Banditas, 2006

Simple. Easy. Sometimes stupid, but in a good way.
    Always something to look at.
    And interrogation scene...

  • Maigret sets a trap

You need to see what Rowan Atkinson can do in different role.
    Just out of curiosity.
And film is not bad at all.

  • Le capital

    Stylish ode to modern imperialism.

    - We're playing, Maud. It's a game. - An unfair game that's a bit cruel. But it's planetary. - No one can quit. and say, "I won't play anymore." - What of those who lose their jobs. their lives, to enrich the stockholders? - They in it too? - Like in all games, there are winners and losers. - The winners can lose everything. But the losers can win, too. That's the beauty of the game. - My friends, I'm the modern Robin Hood - Let's continue to rob the poor and make the rich richer!
  • Phoebe in Wonderland

Interesting film about rich western family "problems" and usual "solutions". With quite good acting from Elle Fanning (Dakota Fanning sister).

    To much better film:

    Man on Fire

This time another from two sisters perform perfectly.

A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasey's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece. Fuentes: You know, I-I'm a professional. Creasy: That's what everybody keeps saying. "I'm just a professional". Everybody keeps saying that to me. "I'm just a professional", "I'm just a professional". I'm getting sick and tired of hearing that.

To real masterpiece about some real problems

  • The Great Debaters, 2007

Films with a lot of shortfalls, but can inspire you to read and learn a lesson or two.

Strange "communist" is teaching debate class to participate is mostly worthless word exchanges (based on many citations from any books they like) in the time where oppression of working class became maximum. "Communist" sole task shown as helping forming a union, not bad thing, but this is not real communists tasks. Focusing solely on unions fighting is called "economism" and it has nothing to do with communists. He also really loves religion and thinks that it is good match with "socialism". :-)

Later all is focused on non essential and badly played drama and racial problems that are proclaimed as induced by bad people and some misunderstanding.

Of course main debate (that never existed in reality) is being won by citing Gandhi and proclaiming how good and smart he was. It is worth to note that Gandhi was amazing find of capitalists and had been very useful to them. He is also responsible for keeping Indian ancient system of restrictions, religion and poverty.

  • Independence Day, 1996, 20th Anniversary Remastered Edition

One thing that helped is that it was 1996 and they did not have enough hardware and money for all CGI.
It has quite simple humor and they try to add some part to most too serious moments.

We will plant a virus! - deserves special patent for being used in 50% of Hollywood films now

I don't understand, where does all this come from? How do you get funding for something like this?
You don't actually think they spend $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?

  • The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, 1974

You can see real people here. Not 2D cardboard figures and CGI mixed randomly.
Modern remake is not match for this.

  • Colonia

Some leaders do not understand basics, and they and their people pay for this big price (not specially toy like version showed in film, capitalists who made film do not want to shock you too much). Much worse than stupid hippie like painters and stewardess. Btw religion role showed good as tool of capitalists.

There is no Russian, English, French, German, Italian socialism, as much as there is no Chinese socialism. There is only one Marxist-Leninist socialism. It is another thing, that in the building of socialism it is necessary to take into consideration the specific features of a particular country. Socialism is a science, necessarily having, like all science, certain general laws, and one just needs to ignore them and the building of socialism is destined to failure.

What are these general laws of building of socialism.

    1. Above all it is the dictatorship of the proletariat the workers’ and peasants’ State, a particular form of the union of these classes under the obligatory leadership of the most revolutionary class in history the class of workers. Only this class is capable of building socialism and suppressing the resistance of the exploiters and petty bourgeoisie.
    2. Socialised property of the main instruments and means of production. Expropriation of all the large factories and their management by the state.
    3. Nationalisation of all capitalist banks, the merging of all of them into a single state bank and strict regulation of its functioning by the state.
    4. The scientific and planned conduct of the national economy from a single center. Obligatory use of the following principle in the building of socialism: from each according to his capacity, to each according to his work, distribution of the material good depending upon the quality and quantity of the work of each person.
    5. Obligatory domination of Marxist-Leninist ideology.
    6. Creation of armed forces that would allow the defense of the accomplishments of the revolution and always remember that any revolution is worth anything only if it is capable of defending itself.
    7. Ruthless armed suppression of counter revolutionaries and the foreign agents.

These, in short, are the main laws of socialism as a science, requiring that we relate to them as such.

  • Noises Off... , 1992

You life will be wasted if you will miss this ... sardines.

  • Duell der Brüder - Die Geschichte von Adidas und Puma

Quite interesting film that remakes real history into that is appropriate by present owners.

As usual with each and every real life based thing script writers and directors always think that they need to focus on personal drama and conflicts (90% of all conflicts shown did not existed in reality at all).

You follow two capitalist brothers who founded shoe factory in the city full of shoe makers and with farther who also made shoes (film try to avoid telling you this facts). Most of the story, except some key points, is fully invented by authors, making one brother some Wozniak like figure and another into Jobs like and ignoring all the rest of real workers.

It somehow happened that in 1930s brothers became vivid Nazis (may be because this party expressed exactly interests of such capitalists?), worked for army willingly, helped as much as they could and late in the war produced weapons (again - without any disagreements). Later they invented various myths about it, for marketing reasons.

In film all it is turned 180 degrees, with added lies how they had been threatened and how they had been always inside against it all, they just had been for Great German and true free market capitalism (but it is best to make that most of the contracts will be Nazi government ones, is it possible to combine, please?). Also are present few extremely anecdotal episodes, but they are funny only for people who know that it is plain lie.

Main point of such films is to be able to dig deeper, see how filmmakers distort and destroy real life. Part of it due to their stupidity and inexperience and part due to direct financial interests.

  • Eddie the Eagle

As we can see from multiple examples in this list filmmakers tend to extremely distort real events. This idiots think that their poor fantasies, their fictional characters are smart. Idiots always think stupid things, you know.

Watch this film and use as reason to check real story behind it, real people. All of them are hundred time more interesting and more deserving your attention than fictional creations of poor minds.

  • Pelé: Birth of a Legend

Have you ever noticed that professional sports is very similar to religion? Not by form, but by content, by goals.
Your national team won... and... people will fiercely celebrate, celebrate something not really important to their life, something that have no relation to them at all. It is not their victory, really.
And, of course, everyone is equal in this celebration - rich or poor. Everyone is equal... Remember this!
Rich and poor - they are all for your nation!
But why rich spend so much money on the show? May be they just love it? May be they are lovers of football?
Nope, most of them don't care.
But all of them want you to spend your time watching the show, thinking that all are equal, to become accustomed to this statement, even despite that in real life you see that it is false.

  • Mr. Right

    • Hey, did you have to finish a book on tape?
    • No, sorry. Had to kill somebody in the parking lot. Some asshole. Yeah, he was a real dickhead.

I do not even know exactly what is right with it.
Yeah, such shit happens in life. Even with me.

  • Gridlocked

Very simple, very direct, lot of bullets, lots of bodies. And all this only for a small piece of money.

  • Music and Lyrics, 2007

In 2008 movie was voted "Best Movie Ever" at the Nebraska Tractor and Thresher Show.
Pretty enough to be in this list.

  • Bad Guys Always Die

Simple and sometimes stupid Korean film (with parts in Chinese :-) )

  • Cartel Land

Some leaders do not understand basics, do not use scientific approach. They may be good leaders, may be, but all of this repeat same basic errors known for long time. This people pay for this big price.

  • Never Been Kissed, 1999

Films is really simple and with lots of usual stamps, but it is ok.

Why don't smart kids make themselves popular? If they're so smart, why don't they figure out how popularity works and beat the system, just as they do for standardized tests?

One argument says that this would be impossible, that the smart kids are unpopular because the other kids envy them for being smart, and nothing they could do could make them popular. I wish. If the other kids in junior high school envied me, they did a great job of concealing it. And in any case, if being smart were really an enviable quality, the girls would have broken ranks. The guys that guys envy, girls like.

In the schools I went to, being smart just didn't matter much. Kids didn't admire it or despise it. All other things being equal, they would have preferred to be on the smart side of average rather than the dumb side, but intelligence counted far less than, say, physical appearance, charisma, or athletic ability.

So if intelligence in itself is not a factor in popularity, why are smart kids so consistently unpopular? The answer, I think, is that they don't really want to be popular.

If someone had told me that at the time, I would have laughed at him. Being unpopular in school makes kids miserable, some of them so miserable that they commit suicide. Telling me that I didn't want to be popular would have seemed like telling someone dying of thirst in a desert that he didn't want a glass of water. Of course I wanted to be popular.

But in fact I didn't, not enough. There was something else I wanted more: to be smart. Not simply to do well in school, though that counted for something, but to design beautiful rockets, or to write well, or to understand how to program computers. In general, to make great things.

At the time I never tried to separate my wants and weigh them against one another. If I had, I would have seen that being smart was more important. If someone had offered me the chance to be the most popular kid in school, but only at the price of being of average intelligence (humor me here), I wouldn't have taken it.

  • Farewell, My Queen, 2012

Extremely perverted product of so called "art people".
Depicting things that never really happened.
And showing Marie Antoinette as horribly stupid lesbian (both claims are false, of course).

But good reason to read real history.

  • La cage dorée, 2012

Quite stylish and slightly weird film.

Poor Portuguese family lives in Paris and is working hard (and good), yet do not get any good treatment from anyone outside. He is builder, salary is small, boss always ask for extra hours, payment for this absent. Boss is rich idiot. She is concierge working in the house full of rich idiots who have no value to society at all.

Suddenly their brother dies and they become rich, with good house, business and stuff, real capitalists, just need to go to Portugal. But no one of parasites outside want them to leave :-)

Main film idea - you need to continue to work for small salary and stay in place because parasites need you. And your daughter and son of idiot boss will take care of money, they are from capitalist breed, remember.

  • The Butcher's Wife, 1991

Warm, gentle, simple and naïve movie. Something we lack today.

  • 200 Pounds Beauty, 2006

Time for one more Korean film. Simple, easy, sometimes funny, sometimes not.
