Looked at PunchCad thing, it is usable, but as I said, interface is strange and it works not very good under Windows. Under the hood it is Dassault Catia engine.
Trial links (I do not know why V8 is not present here):
Very good find. It is cheap. Interface is quite strange compared to modern solid modellers, but looks like it works. I don't see trial versions, unfortunately.
I've contacted a company in my state that offers 3D scanning services. Nothing defininte yet, but if I'm lucky, I'll get a CAD scan of the GH2 body, then work up a shell design from that.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev It's understandable why TrusMT wouldn't release the complete design docs. Actually, I wouldn't need the follow focus gear docs, just the CAD docs for the mount and adjustable arm.
>If TrusMT would send me the CAD design docs for their 15mm Follow Focus
I highly doubt this. Ypou can use many photos available. I could also ask for cross sections and measurements photos. But you do not need to model entire FF if you do not need.
If TrusMT would send me the CAD design docs for their 15mm Follow Focus, I'd be happy to correct its design flaws under the same terms as this contest. My critique and suggested modifications of the device can be seen here:
I have a design for a replacement top handle for the AF100 as well as a design for a Nanoflash mount that replaces the side handle on the AF100. I don't need the money if they mass produce it, I just could use them like yesterday.
