Tascam DR-05 topic

For the DR40 w/ your FW Solo, you would use 1/4in balanced cable on both ends (I believe you only need to connect one of these outputs to the recorder since the mic is mono, and record in mono). DR05 with a lavalier mic should work fine. I have not experienced the helicopter issue, so can't comment on that.
