What do people see as the advantages with the Voigtlander 25mm over the Panny 25mm as far as image is concerned?
The Voigtlander is a different animal. As far as I can see this lens has been met with such acclaim, so many reviews and testimonials from its release date and followed up by so many productions that we can say the jury's in.
To see just one review among others that shoots from the hip and says it all, see http://www.cameraquest.com/voigt_m43.htm - It's a lens seller site (Voigtlander USA Distributor) but you can follow links to professional users like http://www.henryfilms.com/.
With the Voigtlander NK25 you have to go the extra mile to get the shots the others don't. The Panasonic will give you an easier ride but not the same results. See http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2012/01/10/the-panasonic-leica-25-1-4-summilux-lens-review-for-micro-43/
Bad Voigtlander reviews are hard to come by. But compare the Summilux review above to http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2011/02/28/the-voigtlander-f0-95-25mm-micro-43-lens-review-by-david-babsky/
I tend to lower the saturation setting on GH2 to mitigate color clipping if there's any. At the same time I don't wanna have artifact from boosting too much saturation during post-processing. Nk25 gave the most saturation among all lenses I have tried. That's not something that can be mimicked easily from post-processing. I found Nokton and SLR Magic and Canon FD lenses are easy to get likable OOC color. That's just my opinion. Everyone has different color taste which can't be quantized. Listen to your gut, trust your gut. If you can't see benefits other than f/0.95, don't get this lens.
@whynot my 17.5mm f0.95 nokton do the same , but don't worry as astraban says better thight than wonky
Cool, thx guys! When it comes time to buy the camera, I'll pick up this lens.
@Stonebat Thanks for the lower saturation advice. That sounds on the money.
When taking photos with Nk25, I raise the saturation setting by +1 or +2 in vivid. Intoxication by color :)
How declick aperture ring at Nokton 25mm? My technician has no idea how to open this lens, and aperture ring placed at front of lens. I don't like idea disassemble whole lens.
@act start here, or show it to your technician. If you or he/she do it, take lots of pics and share please. If you check the comments below his write up, he offers the The Cine-Mod for around $250 (not bad IMHO) http://matthewduclos.wordpress.com/2011/06/08/voigtlander-25mm-f0-95-nokton-teardown/

I finally got one Nokton 25mm amazing lens,
Hope the make same 35mm for MFT
would be nice 17.5 , 25 and than 35 :-)
I think a 12mm by Voight would be welcomed.
Here's a short video of making a cup of tea, shot with the Nokton 25mm f0.95, and FM 2.02 for a short film that I wrote and directed last weekend.
Just for fun, I enabled Youtube's feature to stabilize the video, which is why some of the movements seem a little odd.
+1 for 12mm voightlander, that would be unbelievable !
Oh i forgot, yes, yes, yes 12mm also :-) Here is some test found on vimeo 17.5 and 25mm
17.5mm has its own topic.

[Moved to Which fast 25mm MFT lens? topic]
@goanna Go slowly. Wait for more reviews and user feedbacks. You know horses for courses.
Every day i use it i like it much more ... My "dream lens", now is here (my short dof test)
Can anyone recommend a 50mm that pairs well with the Voigt 25mm?
Looks like the same time test again, more or less.
I think I'll just wait for one of those full benchmarked tests.
I can't understand why you'd have both lenses in your hands and not take them out for a drive. (Are these guys only trying out the lenses in a shop?)
It seems the Nokton has shallower DOF than the HyperPrime. Roughly 1 stop?
See http://www.hdwarrior.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Nokton-F-stops.jpg from http://www.hdwarrior.co.uk/2010/12/02/the-voigtlander-nokton-25mm-f0-95-micro-43lens-for-the-panasonic-af101/
When to use such crazy bokeh at 0.95? For low lighting? For hiding background details for storytelling purpose?
If the Nokton has a shallower DOP, then one of these is not actually 25mm or the T-stop/f-stop is wrong on one of these. The SLRmagic does render sharper and I look forward to the full "same spot in focus" tests. I just wish SLRmagic would just step up their QC. The Voigts are built like tanks and built with precision. I can't help but factor this in when I decide to buy.
By the way, my Manfrotto 577 plate side brass screw broke suddenly without any hard twist. I thought these were built to last?
@tinyrobot "then one of these is not actually 25mm". I don't concur with you. It's just characteristic of each lens. At same focal length and f-number, each lens can have different DOF. The Nokton vs Leica DG 25mm 1.4 showed that the Nokton has shallower DOF then the Leica when both were set at 1.4.
You gotta ask yourself why you need 0.95. For more blurred background, the Nokton would do it. For more sharpness in low lighting situation, the HyperPrime would do it. There are more options, and that's good.
