    @Tobsen As you know the GH2 can only do 25p/30p (HBR mode) in a 50/60 wrap. The GH3 25p/30p is setup similar to the 24p stuff - pure progressive. The GH3 defo wins in this matter.

    Whats interesting is that come the GH3 hack we should easily be able to deliver all the settings from the GH2 straight into the AVCHD GH3 settings in beautiful co-existence - GH3 stock mov settings and GH2 AVCHD. Best of both worlds... until work begins on the mov settings.

    GH2 Cluster X Series 12 GOP setting outperforms the GH3

    GH2 Stock 12 GOP - versus - GH3 Stock 12 GOP IPB .mov mode - versus - GH2 Driftwood Cluster X 'DREWnet' Trial 6 setting;-

    Driftwood's Cluster X Series 12 GOP 24p setting 'DREWnet' underlines the fact that the GH2 still resolves finer quantisation (using its 4x4 transform with 20+Mbps more datarate) on a death chart resolution test. The GH3 employs both coarser 8x8 transform and 4x4 transform (4x4 is only used by the GH3 for hi contrast luma edges).

    Cluster X 'DREWnet' 12 GOP 1080p24 on average resolves 60+-72Mbps and a QP avg of 10 for most scenes. GH2 owners can try out the setting by going to this page and link in the 12/15 GOP comment;-

    Hi all,

    We just shot a short film with the GH3 and it is finished now. It might be interesting for you guys to see what the GH3 can do. The film was shot over 2.5 days. I added some details in the film's description. Make sure to download the film for full 1920x1080 resolution, as I don't have a paid Vimeo account.

    You can set the new MS2 shotgun to a required peak threshold using the 'mic level adj.' - the AGC will still use that peak as its topmost limit like without a ext mic. See more info here regarding this excellent (but expensive) GH3 designed microphone;-

    Does the GH3 use AGC for mic inputs? Or does it act more of a leveler to prevent clipping?

    Can't seem to find any concrete information on this anywhere.

    Obviously you can alter the mic levels in camera but I read somewhere that the GH3 still has AGC across all settings which seems bizarre.

    I don't know what that guy did in his test but D5200 is not looking that good, period!

    And I've seen a lot of low light situations on the street with GH3 and non of them ware that bad, something is fishy about his test...

    I search everywhere on the internet about D5200, it looks modest at most.

    I still don't understand why the GH3 is about +185% more expensive body only than the GH2. Admittedly it's better, but they've priced it almost like another camera range.

    Edit. I'm on about high street release prices, not discounted after 18 months.

    Tomorrow I'm gonne shoot a music video with my GH3. I have the 12-35mm lens, 25mm f0,95 nokton, 58mm f 1,4 nokton. I gonne use 1080P50 50mbit so I can use a lot slo mo's in post production. If the edit is ready I export it in 1080P25.

    As DXO Mark sad, Gh3 is a little bit worse than Nikon D7000, and a little bit better than D300s. I tested the raw files myself in Lightroom 4 and I wold put it exactly between those two for still image quality. I'm talking about raw image quality. For the moment I don't like the jpg high ISO rendering of GH3.

    This is pretty good for a small sensor like this. Man can have an exceptionally video tool with decent photo capabilities.

    so the GH3 is amazing for grading! :O i just decided to see how flexible it is, so i popped it in FCP and Color, then BAM!! sooooo much room for grading!! :O its ridiculous!! I MUST TEST MORE!!!

    I examined the samples from IR myself and the jpg quality until ISO 1600 is very good, but after that there are to many sharpening artifacts in the image. I don't understand how Panasonic was not able to get at least the quality of OMD 5 at high ISO, but that's it, for stills I will use RAW anyway.

    The good news is that if you look at the test charts you will discover that the lines are very pleasing, no sign of moire, and they have a very smooth gradation.

    I also compared the house image with other cameras and GH3 has a huge DR, especially in the shadows, and that picture was taken with normal profile, I can only imagine how flat is with the neutral seating.

    My GH3's will arrive next week, and I will do proper testing...

    I ordered mine at www.cameranu.nl Have to shoot a videoclip next week, zo hopefully I'll recieve the GH3 very quicky (it was in stock, so I should be here in a few days) So what are the best settings they say? the 50mbit long gop is better than the All I 72 mbit?

    Well ... there's that!

    Here's an idea, if your rig isn't too cumbersome: change lenses, restart the GH3, and shoot a couple of the seconds of the GH3's monitor with the GH2.
