What do we know about the novel coronavirus?

  • Well lets hope it kills billionaires first. In jalisco, mexico, a group of the rich went to vail, colorado, and now they're all getting sick. Yeah we're totally fuxed. The world might change forever, and radically. @Vitaliy....and you're almost not loading .

  • @kurth

    Well, more panic.

In Mordor leaked info is that most of the time tests are used either for antibodies to old coronaviruses (they are also not very reliable and totally not applicable for selective detection of just new one) or at best on exclusion base (tests of few types of flu, tests on old coronaviruses and 1-2 others, if they are negative - it is declared that it is Covid-19). Thing is, if you want to do it you can detect antibodies in up to 80% of population, hence can be why ruling class used exactly this virus, as you have unlimited base for horror stories.

    Ruling class somehow:

    1. Doing almost nothing to supply masks
    2. Doing almost nothing to make enough beds (China at least did, in one location only)
    3. Can't explain much about tests used
    4. Somehow makes biggest social impact on young population that has smallest risks from virus, but biggest threat to ruling class
    5. Focuses highest economic burden on small business (and some medium ones), while large is being fully freed from payments and provided unlimited stimulus.

Thing that we see can be stage one of global economic meltdown of capitalism and it is being made such to have total control of population during prolonged period.

  • worldwide chloroquine reset...who's responsible ? There is no more chloroquine. The pharmaceutical suppliers are either, first scenario, holding on to their supplies for a huge price jump, or , second scenario, diverting them to hospitals now that it's common knowledge it's a cure. I've been to 20 pharmacies in the past 2 days, and found one box. All on order, but none expect any to show up. This should be good subject for @Vitaliy.

  • @zcream....disagree. People don't need protection from themselves from their governments. What they do need is education and free information. But it appears you really support trump, if you support the fda.

  • Chloroquine is already approved by the FDA. Just not for Covid-19, the argument is about new approval. so doctors may not prescribe it for Covid-19. You need a prescription - as in India. And thats a good thing as it does have side effects.

  • @Zcream...actually trumpster is an atheist. And what difference does it make about reinfection, if you're already sick. Problem is the fuxin fda ! Should allow everyone to acquire chloroquine w/o restrictions now. But at least he's beginning to get off his arse. Lots better than the pres of Mexico. Of course, here we can buy it w/o a script....it's just no longer available !

  • Trump does not understand there are multiple types of this virus. Also, treatment does not imply a lack of re-infection. The guy has the simple minded righteousness of the Christian right.

  • @Vitaliy....it's much less important whether they designed the crisis or they're riding the wave( good metaphor) , if the virus is real, imho. That's why I put it way down at number 6. Because, regardless, we have to ride the wave, and try to survive it. Doesn't matter if we're off that port in Portugal, or some surf park in California, the wave is real. The crazy thing is some people think there's no wave.

  • @kurth

Lets assume the worse, but need to watch carefully.

Capitalism really needed something like this to place blame on it. May be they designed whole thing, may be just riding the wave.

  • @Vitaliy....if you...or I get sick with it....all the other shit won't be important. I made this for a friend who's a serious doubting thomas .....

    1. The virus and it’s personal consequences….illness, disability and death
    2. The virus and it’s consequences on the healthcare system…systemic failure, inability to acquire medical resources
    3. The social consequences….social disorder ….rampant crime…police state
    4. The economic consequences….depression, lack of funds, world depression, collapse of the system
    5. The political consequences….govt’s will fall , politicians will lose, political systems could change …i.e from capitalist to socialist, or from socialist to communist, or from democratic to totalitarian. Nations will rise and nations will fall.
    6. Virus origin theories….spinning the natural selection theory over the bioweapon to avoid worldwar iii…the information and propaganda war
    7. War…retaliation….conventional, nuclear or biological

Here’s the way I see it. All 7 aspects are real and valid. To deny any one of them is not wise. However, No 1 being the one that affects me and everyone else the most and the thing I can personally affect the most, and the most relevant to focus my energy, unless me or my family get sick, and then no2 becomes equally as important. No 3 is also important, and affects long term survival. Learning and knowing how to cope in a new world. All the other aspects are out of my personal control, yet are real and necessary to keep under observation. Skip one and two at your own peril.

  • @kurth

We can also have panic paired with elites idea to use old coronaviruses (responsible for around 45% similar symptoms, if you deduct flu) and special testing methods (unproven or specially designed such) to get any numbers they need.

We need to carefully watch legal system and economics, we can be now in the "second plane hits the tower" stage. We already had repeat of operation performed in 2008 and 2014 for lowering energy and resources prices for developed countries. And now China position is much worse (as they fucked lot of their own resources and passed peak coal).

  • @Vitaliy....stats where easy access to icu beds exist and 100% of medical resources are dedicated, is relatively meaningless. It's like judging all rats by those trapped and running in a maze. Real rats don't live in mazes. Real world stats , where facilities are saturated are coming out Italy.

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev great article, it certainly helps to put the present times in a dialetical perspective and action perspective.

Even so I have doubts about if people organization would not be only possible with a delay in the present case? those things will need to be past to be perceived in a collective organization way?

Now, from inside, everyone is in more or less in panic except far-right militants (they already live in panic, it's normal days to them, just grab a gun).

  • Could the Covid-19 case fatality rate be that low? No, some say, pointing to the high rate in elderly people. However, even some so-called mild or common-cold-type coronaviruses that have been known for decades can have case fatality rates as high as 8% when they infect elderly people in nursing homes. In fact, such “mild” coronaviruses infect tens of millions of people every year, and account for 3% to 11% of those hospitalized in the U.S. with lower respiratory infections each winter.

These “mild” coronaviruses may be implicated in several thousands of deaths every year worldwide, though the vast majority of them are not documented with precise testing. Instead, they are lost as noise among 60 million deaths from various causes every year.

  • Another small thing

Governments try to control testing as much as possible, in most countries you can't make independent tests or even just get into hospital and request testing. Also it is no scientific data about this tests (how many false positives, and lot of other specific data).

Masks shortages are severe and governments are NOT planning fast real hike of production. It is very suspicious. As lack of masks can be required if you plan to use other flu like deceases to use as cover coranavirus craze.

Even in China it is mostly small to medium private companies that are making (in addition to pre craze era) and reselling masks now. I do not see any real care from big countries about solving this issue.

  • The U.S. economy could shrink 14% next quarter, a JP Morgan economist said on Wednesday.

  • Delivery Club in Mordor no longer accepts cash under pretense of virus (but also states that hope it'll be kept after this). It is expected that many internet companies with delivery will follow them in coming weeks. Banks also ask people to use credit cards and NFC payments.

  • Rumors are that we can see fast and silent changes in labor laws. They'll be implemented to "save the business" and "improve workers conditions". All changes will be made during days of total lockdown and with armed forces on the streets.

This is directly related to things like coronavirus spread. As corporations like Apple actually redistribute resources and huge number of working people time such a way that it makes few of people rich and all the others fully affected by any plague or natural issue.
