Tick-Tack painful death or 10nm Intel process has serious issues
  • image

We expect to lengthen the amount of time we will utilize our 14nm and our nextgeneration 10nm process technologies, further optimizing our products and process technologies while meeting the yearly market cadence for product introductions

  • Intel won't be using EUV for both 10nm and future 7nm. In reality it means huge price hike of masks due to big amount of them, and also reducing of factories capacity due to longer time required for expositions.

  • Gary confirmed GlobalFoundries will not be offering a 10nm process. They believe it will be short lived node and don't see the value proposition in it.

Seems to be the global case.

  • @nomad

All camera companies usually got previous processes for cheap, as they moved to them with big delays (with Sony and Samsung being best).

With any stall in progress here cost will rise. Add to this constant reduction of cameras market and orientation on 10% top families.

  • Why? Because we can't switch to 8K soon?

  • It is bad for us.

  • Oh well, Moore's law was going to eventually draw to an end. We all saw it coming.
