Company is extreme example of how you can mess things up.

They make pens working using Anoto paper, very smart idea of multiple dots and simple camera.

Their first of modern pens was Pulse:

• Very original idea of binaural audio recording using special headphones (makes very easy to recognize words later even in noisy places)
• Had crandle for fast charging
• Had dying OLED screen (if you leave pen and it will discharge enough display controller kills the display, faulty construction)

Next was Echo:

• Worse pen form, cheaper materials
• Micro USB instead of handy crandle
• Same issues with OLED screen

Sky Wi-Fi was not popular at all.

LiveScribe 3 is just accessory for iPhone/iPad. Does not work without them.

Pens are being manufactured using cameras and chips of many years old specs.

Recently they made new desktop software with fewer features and special firmware release for pens to make it not possible for them to work with old software. Reason? Subscription model for some features of new software :-)
