Zaxcom Nova Software Version 2.0 Launched, Withdraws from NAB 2020

Zaxcom has announced the launch of software version 2.0 for its recorder/mixer/receiver: the Zaxcom Nova. This major firmware update introduces a lot of new features for the Zaxcom Nova, including an increase in the number of audio tracks you can record from 12 to 16. Also, the company announced that they are withdrawing from NAB 2020. Let’s take a closer look at all these announcements. The Zaxcom Nova. Image credit: Zaxcom Zaxcom Nova Software Version 2.0 The Zaxcom Nova is a compact audio mixer/recorder that features 4 XLR mic/line “NeverClip” inputs and two line-level balanced inputs. On the digital audio side, there are four external AES inputs and six analog/AES output buses. Also, at the back of the unit, there are two optional module receivers slots. Each slot can receive audio from up to four separate wireless transmitters. The module receivers are fully integrated into the Zaxcom Nova, which means you don’t need any cables to connect your wireless receivers and the recorder. You now probably got it, the Zaxcom Nova is a high-end product made for professionals sound recordists. Zaxcom is further expending the Nova’s capabilities with the release of software version 2.0, which adds: This version increases the recording track count from 12 to 16.
