You Can Now Use the Sony ZV-1 As A Webcam

Sony releases a firmware update to turn the popular vlogging camera into a webcam. When the pandemic hit, nearly every major camera manufacturer jumped into action developing software to enable cameras to be used as webcams. It was a great idea that many of us took advantage of and wondered why it wasn't standard from the start. Now that there are software options directly from top camera brands, it makes it easier to turn compatible cameras into a webcam instead of relying on third-party software. Sony has released a firmware update (v2.0) for the ZV-1 that allows shooters to use it as a livestreaming device by simply connecting it to a Windows or a Mac via USB. When connected, the ZV-1 allows you to take advantage of the compact camera's high-quality video and audio to use for video calls or livestreams. Better yet, it also allows you to livestream with the camera connected to the Xperia smartphones, including the Xperia 1 II or Xperia 5 II.
