Tokina's New Ultra-Wide Lens Focuses on APS-C Sized DSLRs

Tokina releases new atx-i 11-20mm F2.8 CF lens for APS-C DSLRs. It's the summer of APS-C lens releases for Tokina. The company outlined its 2020 lens roadmap with multiple focal lengths arriving this summer covering different camera mounts including Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony E. Additionally, new Fujifilm X and full-frame Sony E mount lenses are expected in the fall. Tokina's atx-i "interactive" lenses are updated versions of its popular AT-X Pro line. There are now 3 newly designed focal lengths available including a 100mm F2.8 FF Macro, an 11-16mm F2.8 CF, and the atx-i 11-20mm F2.8 CF. The 11-20mm F2.8 CF is an ultra-wide angle zoom for video shooters looking for an inexpensive alternative. The fast F2.8 aperture makes it ideal for low light conditions while still providing a shallow depth of field. Optically, it incorporates 14 elements in 12 groups using 3 aspherical glass elements and 3 super-low dispersion elements to minimize distortion and spherical aberration. The combination should provide edge-to-edge sharpness with a hint of contrast through the image with minimal vignetting. Read More...
