Tentacle Sync Micro-USB Timecode Cable for the Sony FX3/FX30 Introduced

Tentacle Sync recently introduced a new Micro-USB Type-B timecode cable for Sony FX3/FX30 cinema cameras. This cable connects to your Sony Multi/Micro-USB terminal and is compatible with the Tentacle Sync E/ORIGINAL timecode generator and the TRACK E audio recorder. Let’s take a closer look at it! The Sony FX3 and FX30 cinema cameras feature a similar exterior design and are competent compact filmmaking tools. Both cameras recently got a major firmware update, version 4.00, unleashing 24p and 4K DCI recording, focus breathing compensation for the FX3, and most importantly, in-camera anamorphic de-squeeze. However, due to their compact body size, it was hard for Sony to implement a proper Timecode port on the FX3/FX30, such as the one found on the FX6, for example. But, on the left side of the Sony FX3/FX30, below the USB Type-C port, there is a Micro-USB port that says “Multi”. Good news for Sony users: you can use that Multi port to feed timecode into the camera, but you need the proper connection cable. Tentacle Sync SYNC E connected to the Sony FX3/FX30.
