The TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile App allows shooters to customize and control their Tamron lenses in the field. Currently available for Android devices only, this free mobile application offers many of the same features found in the TAMRON Lens Utility for Windows/Mac. However, it can also be used as a tethered lens remote. Let’s dive in and see everything it can do! TAMRON Lens Utility for Mac The company first launched the desktop TAMRON Lens Utility application in October of 2021. It is a straightforward program designed to update firmware, and personalize lens settings to make photography “more fun”. It works by connecting the lens directly to the system via a USB-C cable, and it is only compatible with 5 lenses. TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile for Android The mobile version of the Tamron app is limited to working with only 3 of those 5 compatible TAMRON lenses at launch and does not allow users to update the firmware. TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile – compatible lenses *TAMRON has stated that the 50-400mm (Model A067) will be compatible at a later date.
