Tamron has just released two new lenses for Sony E-Mount cameras: the 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD compatible with Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras and the 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD that covers full-frame sensors. Let’s take a closer look at these lenses! Over the past couple of years, Tamron released a couple of lenses specifically for Sony E-Mount cameras, including the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD, the 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD, and the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD to name a few. To offer more options to content creators, the company just released two new lenses: the Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD and the 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD. Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD Features The Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD (codename: B060) is a Sony E-Mount only lens, that’s compatible with mirrorless cameras with an APS-C sensor, like the Sony a6000/6300/6500/6600. According to Tamron, this is the “world’s first 11-20mm F/2.8 lens for Sony APS-C E-Mount cameras,” but I disagree with that since the Tokina 11-20mm T2.9 is pretty similar (although it is a cinema glass and doesn’t have autofocus) and has been available for nearly two years now. The 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD is an autofocus lens compatible with Fast Hybrid AF, Eye AF, Direct Manual Focus (DMF). It also benefits from in-camera lens correction (shading, chromatic aberration, distortion). Image credit: Tamron...
