SWIT has just announced a new affordable wireless video system: the SWIT CURVE500. With a small form-factor, this lightweight system features HDMI input and HDMI output ports. With a very low 30ms latency, it looks like an excellent solution for DSLR and Mirrorless camera filmmakers. Let’s take a closer look at it! Image credit: SWIT SWIT CURVE500 Features SWIT has been making wireless video systems for more than ten years now, and they just introduced a more “budget-friendly” HDMI-only lineup with the SWIT CURVE500. Indeed, they have more “professional” lines with SDI and HDMI input/output ports, like the FLOW series that I talked about earlier. Image credit: SWIT The SWIT CURVE500 has a similar “box” form-factor as the FLOW500, and they have a lot in common, including: The maximum transmission range is 500 feet/150 meters. It uses SWIT’s KUWI 5.1-5.9GHz wireless technology, which is not a “WiFi-based” transmission: it is much more reliable, with a low latency of only 30ms. They are entirely made out of aluminum. There are one HDMI input and one HDMI output ports on the transmitter, and two HDMI ports on the receiver. Also, there are two USB Type-C ports on both the transmitter and receiver. At the back of each unit, there are Sony NP-F type battery plates. On the sides, there is one 7-34V lockable DC input for powering the units out of a D-Tap battery.
