Sony has announced the launch of the CineAlta Club, an initiative offering support and education for the cinematography community. Working out of Sony’s Digital Media Production Centre at Pinewood Studios, UK, comes a series of online/offline resources in the form of free training, professional support and paid courses to further educate CineAlta users. Sony specifically mentions DPs, ACs and DIT as people who would benefit from the resources. The Sony CineAlta club PR release highlights these three areas: Crew Call: For crews who are using VENICE cameras, this is an opportunity to ask your questions and get support from the experts. This will be hosted online.VENICE Refresher: In this two-hour session you can get up to date on the latest cinematography workflows and VENICE camera upgrades. This will be hosted online and in-person when allowed at the DMPC.VENICE Accreditation: This two-day paid training course will provide DoP’s, DIT’s, Operators and AC’s with an in-depth training on VENICE cameras and production workflows to maximise on-set efficiency and creative expression. This will be hosted in-person when allowed at the DMPC. The Crew Call will be run by Richard Lewis, Chief Engineer, and crew members can arrange online first-hand support for getting the most out of their Sony VENICE. Government Covid-19 guidelines dependent, both the VENICE Refresher and Accreditation courses will be operating either from the aforementioned Pinewood facilities, or two-hour online sessions....
