COVID-19 relief is on its way for DPs, camera operators, and others working behind the camera. In the wake of the pandemic, hundreds of companies stepped up to offer support by giving those working at home free trials to software, helping educators teach in virtual environments, or deferring costs for students. Netflix and Sony announced each would setup $100 million relief funds to help out of work filmmakers. Netflix has already started to disperse its funds, and now, Sony has identified multiple creative organizations to receive relief. Sony established its relief fund to impact the medical, education, and creative communities.
