LensVid recently partnered with SmallRig to create an interesting mini L-shaped mount plate kit, allowing you to attach accessories to your camera rig at a 90° angle. This small plate features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points. Also, it has retractable ARRI-standard locating pins to avoid unwanted twists, and a silicone coating on the plate to create some friction if you don’t have access to locating pins. So, let’s take a closer look at it! Rigging up wireless audio/video transmitters, small lights, microphones, and various other kinds of camera accessories directly onto your camera rig is not something new. However, I can’t count how many times I felt that my camera rig was not fully optimized and that some bits and pieces felt “off” or, more simply, diverted from their initial purpose.
