SmallRig has just announced its cage for the Nikon Z 9. This cage features a built-in Arca-Swiss plate at the bottom, an additional cold shoe at the top, as well as multiple mounting points all around the cage. Let’s take a closer look at it! The Nikon Z 9 was officially announced a couple of weeks ago, and the least we can say is that it made a lot of waves on the internet thanks to its incredible photo and video recording capabilities. Indeed, the camera can record internally in up to 8K30p and 4K120p in various codecs, including Apple ProRes ProRes 422 HQ 4:2:2 10-bit. Next year, Nikon promised that the Z 9 will be capable of “internal 8K 60p capture in the new 12-bit N-RAW high-efficiency video format, 12-bit ProRes RAW, and other pro-level video features.” Like with every camera launch, third-party accessory manufacturers are usually fast to announce their dedicated cages and rigging options for every camera that comes out.
