Sigma Adds Trio of L-mount Mirrorless Lenses for APS-C Sensors

Sigma adapts its Contemporary prime lenses for L-mount. Three Sigma lenses now include an L-mount option, the alliance between Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma. The trio includes the 16mm, 30mm, and 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses designed for APS-C size cameras. Sigma also announced two telelconverters and a full-frame 100-400mm telephoto lens. Besides the change in bayonet, the optics remain the same. Each focal length shares the same 9 blade aperture design, fast aperture range of F1.4 to F16, and a mount with dust- and splash- proof construction. The optical performance and specs of each focal length do vary. The 16mm is constructed from 16 elements in 13 groups including three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements, and two molded glass aspherical elements. It rivals the popular Art series in terms of performance. The 30mm has 9 elements in 7 groups with two aspherical elements, and the 56mm has 10 elements in 6 groups with two SLD glass elements.
