RØDE has released a major firmware update for the RØDECaster Video, introducing full NDI support at no cost alongside a range of advanced features including PTZ camera control, keying tools, and workflow upgrades. This RØDECaster Video firmware update positions the device as one of the most versatile compact production solutions available. The addition of NDI (Network Device Interface) significantly expands the RØDECaster Video’s capabilities. (In case you missed it, here’s our first look review of the RØDECaster Video.) Users can now receive up to four NDI inputs and output one NDI feed over Ethernet, enabling high-quality, low-latency video-over-IP streaming without the need for dedicated cabling. This makes it possible to integrate cameras, smartphones, and other NDI-compatible devices on the same network, streamlining complex multi-camera setups. The update also extends NDI functionality to the RØDE Capture iOS app, allowing iPhones to act as professional NDI sources. With the new Dual Cam mode, both front and rear iPhone cameras can be streamed simultaneously, either as separate feeds or combined into one view. This offers flexible options for interviews, commentary, and mobile productions. RØDECaster Video keeps getting new features via firmware upgrades.
