That’s a lot of capital letters in a headline, I know, and it will remain that way: RED Digital Cinema has announced a new control app for its KOMODO 6K and V-RAPTOR camera series, dubbed RED CONTROL PRO. The app will be available starting October 13 for a cool $499.99. It is capable of fully controlling the above camera types and even multi-camera arrays. As the headline suggests, this new RED CONTROL PRO (App Store link) is only capable of controlling KOMODO 6K and V-RAPTOR cameras, so it does not support DSMC2 or previous generation RED cameras. And since this is aimed at the high-end professional market, this newly coded app is quite pricey at $499.99, which is rather unusual for an App Store app (iPadOS 14 or higher). However, it is also available for macOS operating systems running Big Sur (11) or above and on Apple Silicon and Intel chips.
