Premiere Pro 25.5 Adds 90+ Built-In Effects, Transitions, and Animations, Plus Faster Playback

Adobe is rolling out Premiere Pro 25.5 with more than 90 new GPU-accelerated effects, transitions, and motion presets built directly into the NLE, alongside timeline and playback improvements, codec acceleration, and companion updates to After Effects. Premiere Pro 25.5 just arrived, timed with IBC, and folds the Film Impact library into the app, eliminating extra plug-ins and subscriptions. Editors can drag and drop modern dissolves, blurs, wipes, glitches, kaleidoscope, and 3D transitions, then customize parameters without breaking real-time playback. New motion tools built in The new collection spans transitions, effects, and text or graphic animations that play back in real time on the GPU, even after heavy tweaking. Adobe also adds a “Surprise Me” button to generate endless variations for each effect, and an optional Film Impact Dashboard under Window → Extensions with live previews of the entire set. Color and texture enhancements Editors can now apply photorealistic bokeh, volumetric rays, halation, and glints, plus shaped vignettes and channel-wise shifts to correct mixed lighting. Additional utilities include curve editors, color pickers, chromatic aberration, and custom blend modes. A realistic camera-shake effect can add handheld texture to locked-off shots. Text and graphics: complex looks, no keyframes Static 2D titles can be turned into 3D animated elements with depth and shadows in seconds. Preset motions let graphics grow, pop, and sweep without round-tripping to After Effects, saving time on quick social or doc edits.
