Nextorage NX-P2SE Series Portable SSD Introduced

Japanese manufacturer Nextorage recently introduced its first lineup of portable SSDs: the NX-P2SE. Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, these compact drives support USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity and have a maximum read speed of 1050MB/s and a maximum write speed of 1000MB/s. So let’s take a closer at these competitively priced drives! Filmmakers and content creators mainly know Nextorage for its AtomX SSDmini drives for Atomos monitor recorders and their CFexpress Type B/SDXC memory cards. However, the Japanese company also makes blazing-fast internal PCIe NVMe SSDs. This time, they are back with palm-sized external SSD drives: the Nextorage NX-P2SE. Image credit: Nextorage Nextorage NX-P2SE features The Nextorage NX-P2SE is a compact external SSD mainly made out of plastic that measures 66 x 9 x 40mm/ 2.5in x 0.35 x 1.57in for a weight of only 19g/0.67oz. According to Nextorage, the drives can resist a 1.5m/4.9ft drop and a bending up to 50 N. At launch, the drives are available in 1 TB and 2 TB capacities. Image credit: Nextorage The NX-P2SE has one USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 connector. Nextorage mentions that the USB-C connector has been tested to resist 10,000+ plugging/unplugging. The built-in 3D TLC NAND flash memory inside the drive can reach speeds up to 1050MB/s in reading and 1000MB/s in writing.
