Modern Film Tools has recently introduced a new 3-piece cage for the RED V-RAPTOR. It features a minimal design, offers several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting points, and grants access to the main controls without obstructing the air ventilation system. It is now available for purchase for $349. The 8K-capable RED V-RAPTOR has been out and about for a little over 8 months now. We already covered quite a few rigging solutions that are specifically designed for this camera model, including offerings from GDU, 8Sinn, Tilta, and Ignite Digi. Although a little late to the party, Modern Film Tools has recently introduced their own cage for RED’s flagship camera. Despite its overall minimal design, this option has a few peculiarities that are worth mentioning. Let’s take a closer look. Image credit: Modern Film Tools Modern Film Tools Cage for RED V-RAPTOR The Modern Film Tools cage for RED V-RAPTOR consists of 3 plates: a top plate, a 1st AC Side plate, and an Operator Side plate. According to the manufacturer, the top and AC Side plates can also be used in a stand-alone configuration. All three pieces are populated with both 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threaded holes for mounting additional accessories to your camera rig.
