After a failure to reach a deal, Kevin Feige will no longer produce Spider-Man films for and with Sony. Marvel and Sony have been renegotiating the rights to the beloved character since before Far From Home crossed the billion-dollar mark at the box office. Disney wants more... Sony wants things to stay the same. So Sony has essentially canceled the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe. This is a fascinating situation to watch in today's landscape where IP, and specific characters and the spinoffs associated with it, becomes the major driving force behind so many decisions and so many projects.
