LiteGear recently released Auroris, a large area light source with a slim profile of only 2.5cm/1”. The light comes in two versions: Auroris X features 24 large pixels and covers an area of 9m²/100ft², while Auroris V is half the size. Auroris X is now available for pre-order for $25,990. The larger the source relative to the subject, the softer the quality of light. We all know this basic technical concept and lighting equipment company LiteGear is taking it seriously. In fact, in a recent launch event, the manufacturer introduced two new huge overhead light sources that measure up to 3x3m/10x10ft. These lights are usually used in large studios to evenly light big subjects, such as cars, and I’m sure the new LiteGear Auroris X and Auroris V will find a new home in soundstages around the world. Let’s take a look. LiteGear Auroris X and Auroris V: sleek design These overhead light sources consist of a matrix of large-format pixels and come in two different sizes. Auroris X measures 3x3m/10x10ft and it features 24 sub-areas, thus covering a total surface of 9m²/100ft².
