At InterBEE 2025, happening in Tokyo, Libec unveiled the TH-650X, its first tripod featuring an Arca-Swiss plate. The complete travel kit weighs just 2.7kg with a 3kg payload capacity, has a stepless variable friction fluid-head, and a tilt range of +90° to -80°. Japanese retail pricing is set at ¥26,500 (approximately $175-180 USD), with global availability expected in late January or early February 2025. The new system represents Libec’s entry into the Arca-Swiss ecosystem, responding to growing demand for compact video solutions with the popular quick-release standard. The head accepts standard Arca-Swiss compatible plates with ±30mm of lateral adjustment for precise camera positioning. According to Koichi-san from Libec, the decision to develop an Arca-Swiss compatible head came from consistent market requests for a lightweight travel tripod that could accommodate the widely-adopted plate system. The company invested significant development time to achieve smooth fluid movement while maintaining both compact dimensions and low weight.
