The Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 is a new, ultra-fast manual prime lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It offers a click-less or clicked aperture ring, a 62mm front filter thread, and has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm (19.69″). The lens is available now for Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and L mount and the price is $599. With the Laowa Argus line, Chinese lens manufacturer Venus Optics offers a line of ultra-fast manual primes for mirrorless cameras. Back in 2021, we reviewed the full-frame Argus 35mm f/0.95 on the Sony a7S III. Now, Venus Optics releases another lens in the Argus line. If I am not mistaken, the newly released Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 is the widest f/1.2 (or faster) full-frame mirrorless lens on the market (beating the SIGMA 35mm f/1.2 and Venus’ own Argus 35mm f/0.95).
