Laowa has expanded its popular 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine lens lineup with the addition of a PL mount, broadening compatibility with professional cinema cameras while maintaining its status as the world’s widest rectilinear full-frame cine lens. Known for pushing the boundaries of ultra-wide cinematography, Venus Optics – the company behind the Laowa brand – has a 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine lens that offers a sweeping 130.3° diagonal angle of view while maintaining zero-distortion imaging across the frame. The lens covers an image circle of 46.31mm, ensuring full compatibility with Vista Vision sensors and high-end cinema cameras like the ARRI ALEXA LF, ALEXA 35, and RED RAPTOR 8K VV, while the new PL mount now allows direct integration into professional cinema workflows. Weighing around 640g (1.41 lbs) and measuring 84mm in front diameter, the lens remains compact and lightweight enough for gimbals, drones, and handheld rigs, making it a practical tool for fast-paced productions.
