It’s Here! Panasonic EVA1 Firmware 2.0 Enables All-I Codecs, RAW, Atomos Adds EVA1 RAW Compatibility

The release of version 2.0 of The EVA1 firmware is imminent out now (download link). With it, indie shooters will have a camera on steroids in their hands: All-I codecs, RAW output, support for more Sigma Art lenses and improved broadcast codecs. Let’s dive right in! UPDATE: Atomos Shogun Inferno and Sumo 19 receive a firmware update to record the 5.7 RAW output from the EVA1! Read all about it in the attached section at the end of the article! LongGOP codecs are not bad per se but I wouldn’t consider them as my first choice either. With this updated EVA1 firmware we can finally wave goodbye to these and welcome the brand new All-Intra flavours! Now, that it’s here check out the full list of updated codecs: ALL-Intra codecs 4:2:2 10bits 4K/UHD up to 30p@400 Mbps 2K/HD up to 60p@200 Mbps 2K/HD up to 30p@100 Mbps ALL-Intra codecs for High Frame rate 4K/UHD ~30p@400 Mbps 2K/HD ~120p@400 Mbps Another cool new feature is the RAW output via 6G SDI: 5.7K RAW at up to 30p, CROP 4K RAW at up to 60p and CROP 2K RAW at up to 240p.
