Irix 65mm T1.5 Full-Frame Cinema Prime Lens Introduced – First Look

On the show floor at IBC 2023, we had the chance to meet Karol Pietka from Irix who introduced us to their newly-announced 65mm T1.5 full-frame cinema prime lens. This is the 7th focal length in the series (8th when also considering the 150mm Macro) and fills the gap between the existing 45mm and 150mm. The lens will be available in early 2024 for €1.200. When we visited Irix’s booth at IBC last year, the company had just announced a new “revamped” 150mm T3.0 non-Macro lens, along with their first-ever lightweight matte box system with magnetic filter mount, which was officially released a couple of months later. Now, the company is further expanding its cinema prime lens lineup with a new 65mm T1.5. Moreover, Karol told us that they plan to introduce an extra focal length in the future to fill the gap between the new 65mm and the 150mm. Let’s take a closer look!
