Don't put all your film in one camera, so to speak. One of the earliest lessons I learned the very hard way was not to put all your hopes and dreams into one project. Filmmaking is about hearing the word "no" 99 times out of 100. If you only work on one project at a time, it's going to take a really long time to hear that yes.
