At IBC 2025, we met with Eddie Melendez from Hohem to look at their newest stabilizer, the MT3 Pro. Designed for hybrid shooters, it supports payloads up to 2.5 kg (4.5 lbs) while keeping the body weight under 1 kg (990 g). The gimbal also brings AI subject tracking, a detachable remote, and support for both autofocus and manual lenses. The MT3 Pro is part of Hohem’s growing stabilizer family, building on ideas introduced in the M7 AI Tracking Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer and V3 Smartphone Gimbal models. According to Eddie, the product evolved through direct feedback from creators and early collaborators, with adjustments made even in the months leading up to launch. That process shaped features like broader AI tracking and the detachable remote, underlining Hohem’s aim to make the gimbal adaptable to different shooting styles. Hohem MT3 Pro. The detachable remote adds flexibility, acting as both a compact reference monitor and control unit. From up to 10m (32.8 ft) away, you can select subjects, adjust parameters, and start or stop recording without relying on an app. The remote also supports shutter control and follow focus, either with Hohem’s kit or third-party gear, thanks to standard ports and bundled rails. It works with both autofocus lenses (Canon, Sony) and manual cinema lenses when paired with a follow focus system. Hohem MT3 Pro Gimbal. Image credit:...
