Grass Valley EDIUS 9.40 Available

During NAB 2019, Grass Valley  announced all the new features of EDIUS 9.40, and now the final version is available. With DaVinci Resolve 16 just around the corner, and the latest software policy from Adobe, where does another pro Windows NLE fit in? If you are not familiar with EDIUS, it’s a professional grade non-linear editing software only available on Windows. Of course, you can use it on a Mac, but you’ll need to install Bootcamp. So there is very little interest in purchasing a Mac if you want to run EDIUS. During IBC 2018, we met with Alex from Grass Valley to talk about EDIUS version 9.30. A year later, EDIUS 9.40 is out, and there are plenty of new features. EDIUS 9.40 now supports Apple ProRes EDIUS 9.40 – New Features Among the new features from EDIUS 9.40, the most noticeable improvements are: Support for Sony Venice Raw, Panasonic P2 8K, and faster Canon Cinema Raw Light performance. EDIUS 9.40 now supports for Apple ProRes export and ProRes Raw import. It’s nice to see that Grass Valley worked in conjunction with Apple to implement ProRes in EDIUS, as it was already available on Adobe (on Windows) for a few months. New multi-cam function with sync options (incl. the announcement of soon to come audio sync). The mask motion tracker has been optimized for better results. HDR-SDR conversion now with soft-clip tone mapping. An improved high-speed H.265 software decoder for improved performances when working with HEVC clips. H.264/H.265 CPU acceleration...
