GoPro Expands Lineup with MAX2 8K 360, LIT HERO, and Fluid Pro AI Gimbal

GoPro has unveiled three products that broaden its ecosystem for creators and action sports users alike: the flagship MAX2 with true 8K 360 capture, the ultra-compact LIT HERO lifestyle camera with a built-in light, and the Fluid Pro AI three-axis gimbal with subject tracking. With DJI and Insta360 currently challenging each other head-to-head not only with drones, but also in tiny action cams (Insta360 GO ULTRA vs. DJI Osmo Nano), normal action cams (Insta360 Ace Pro 2 vs. DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro – watch review), and even 360 cameras (Insta360 X5 vs. DJI Osmo 360), the historical “king of action cameras,” GoPro, is caught in the middle with little new to show lately. Yet just on the heels of DJI’s announcement of the Osmo Nano, they came out with three new products: GoPro positions this trio to cover very different capture scenarios, from professional 360 reframing and VR-adjacent workflows to simple point-and-shoot clips and stabilized solo shooting. The company is clearly aiming to support both advanced users who demand post-production flexibility and casual shooters who want quick, polished results without technical hurdles (especially with the LIT HERO and their new gimbal).
