FUJINON Duvo 24-300mm Portable PL Mount Zoom Lens Introduced

Ahead of IBC 2023 in Amsterdam, which opens next week, FUJINON has just introduced the second lens inside its Duvo series: the HZK24-300mm. This PL mount lens is the first “portable” zoom lens of the Duvo lineup. The lens covers Super35 image sensors and has a 12.5x zoom range. Thanks to the built-in 1.5x expander, it can cover Full Frame image sensors or turn it into a 36-450mm zoom lens on an S35 camera. So, let’s take a closer look at it! The first lens of the FUJINON Duvo series, the HZK 25-1000mm F/2.8-5.0 PL mount cinema box lens, was announced in October 2022. Earlier this year, FUJINON announced its lens roadmap for the Duvo HZK lineup, which included two portable PL mount lenses. Ahead of its initial timeline, FUJINON has just introduced the first lens of the Duvo Portable series: the HZK24-300mm. FUJINON Duvo HZK24-300mm. Image credit: FUJINON FUJINON Duvo HZK24-300mm features The FUJINON Duvo HZK24-300mm is a relatively compact lens with a length of 27cm/10.6in for a weight of 2.95kg/4.4 lbs. This lens is only available with a PL mount, and the lens mount is not interchangeable. However, the lens is compatible with the ZEISS eXtended Data system, which enables you to record lens metadata (FIZ positions). The HZK24-300mm covers Super 35mm image sensors out of the box with a 28.5mm image circle. Engaging the built-in 1.5x expander turns the lens into a 36-450mm zoom lens.
