FUJIFILM GFX100S II Introduced – Large Format in a Compact and Lightweight Body

FUJIFILM has announced their new addition to the GFX System series, the FUJIFILM GFX100S II. The camera shares the image and main features of the GFX100 II in a smaller and lighter body. Let’s take a first look at the camera! Three months after the Tokyo Summit, FUJIFILM celebrates its second Summit in 2024 in Sydney, Australia. The Japanese company has announced the release of new cameras and lenses like the GF500mm F5.6 R LM OIS WR (GF500). The new GFX100S II is their new compact and lightweight camera for photographers and videographers looking to jump to medium format and those who want to expand their system.  FUJIFILM GFX100S II. Credit: FUJIFILM New sensor and X-Processor 5 The FUJIFILM GFX100S II has a new GFX 102MP CMOS II large format sensor around 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor, and a high-speed X-Processor 5. The sensor enables the use of ISO80 in still mode (ISO100 in video mode) as a standard sensitivity, which, together with the 16-bit RAW shooting mode, gives more dynamic range and lower noise than the previous GFX model. The new sensor improves light use efficiency at the edges and comes with 20 Film Simulation Modes (including REALA ACE).  The GFX100S II includes the “Pixel Shift Multi-Shot” feature. We can create a 16-shot RAW file, shifting the image sensor by 0.5 pixels for each shot and using the “Pixel Shift Combiner” software.
