FUJIFILM has released firmware version 1.02 for the GFX ETERNA 55, its large format cinema camera that made waves when announced last month. The GFX ETERNA 55 can now output RAW data in 4:3 Open Gate and 4K resolutions at up to 48fps over HDMI, with SDI supporting frame rates up to 29.97fps. FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55. The Open Gate format captures everything the sensor sees, giving filmmakers room for reframing, stabilization, or creative cropping in the edit bay. FUJIFILM notes that both the GFX ETERNA 55 and Atomos Ninja TX series use CFexpress Type B media, creating a unified workflow where the same cards can move between camera and recorder.
