At the show, we talked to Malcolm Modele, who explained that the Ares-se attaches to compatible gimbals and provides up to 30% reduction in x-axis vibration while distributing weight across both hands rather than concentrating it in a single grip point. According to Malcolm, the system addresses operator endurance issues common with extended handheld gimbal operation. The accessory features internal springs with dual adjustment dials that allow operators to balance the system based on their camera and lens combination.
