The Canon rumors are starting to heat up. Canon Rumors is reporting that the Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6, along with several new RF lenses, will be announced on July 9th. The site has a long history of being both correct and widely wrong, but the Canon July 9th announcement checks out. The confirmed features of the Canon EOS R5 aim to usher in a new wave of full-frame mirrorless image capture. When the EOS 5D Mark II was released in November 2008, it inadvertently changed independent filmmaking with the inclusion of full HD (1,920 x 1,080) video at 30fps. Now 12 years later, the EOS R5 looks to do the same. And it's probably not a coincidence the EOS R5 uses the "5" moniker. It's most likely a reference to the 5D SLR series.
