Deity microphones recently released an affordable microphone shock mount with a built-in XLR connector holder: the ASM1. The ASM1 supports up to 0.87″ in diameter shotgun microphones and retails for only $99. Let’s take a closer look at all the features of this versatile shock mount! Chinese audio-specialized company Deity microphones have been manufacturing cost-effective audio solutions for quite some time now. The least we can say is that they’ve built a solid reputation with products such as the Deity Connect wireless system and the TC-SL1 timecode slate we reviewed. Deity is now back with an affordable microphone shock mount that has nothing to envy to the big players out there: the ASM1. The suspensions are what help reduce unwanted vibrations, bumps, and handling noises. Image credit: Deity Microphones In the case of the ASM1, you have two suspensions: a sliding suspension at the bottom and the main suspension where your microphone is mounted. You can mount any shotgun microphone with a diameter between 0.75″/19mm and 0.87″/22mm. To give you an idea, it should work with microphones such as the Sennheiser MKH 416, the Schoeps CMIT 5, the RODE NTG4, and so on.
