DaVinci Resolve 20.2 Brings ProRes RAW, Better Immersive Workflows, and AI Fog Effects

Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve 20.2, a free update that introduces long-awaited Apple ProRes RAW support, immersive EXR workflows, and AI-driven atmospheric effects. With improvements across editing, Fusion, and color grading, the release significantly expands Resolve’s capabilities for filmmakers, VFX artists, and colorists. The update is particularly relevant for mirrorless and cinema camera users from brands like Panasonic, Canon, Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon, and others whose models support ProRes RAW recording . Even Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max can now record directly in ProRes RAW, and those files are immediately compatible with Resolve 20.2. Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, emphasized that the move extends across Blackmagic’s own hardware ecosystem as well: future firmware for Pocket Cinema Camera models and Video Assist monitors will add ProRes RAW recording support.
