Blackmagic Design have been keeping busy this summer (or winter in their native Australia). With monthly updates coming in fast (a big one in May, and two smaller ones in June and July), it was only a matter of time until 18.5 would be out of beta. And that time is now! The release of a new version of DaVinci Resolve is always quite a public affair with months of beta releases ahead of the final release – with many of the beta releases actually still adding new features to the app as we go along. But now the time has come, DaVinci Resolve 18.5 is out of beta, the final version is available for download. DaVinci Resolve update available from within the program You can now download 18.5 from within the program – you will get a pop-up message reminding you that a new update is available once you start the program. Up until now, you had to download the beta version from Blackmagic’s website. Very useful AI features Some of the biggest draws of version 18.5 are the new AI features. The audio transcription functionality alone will save you hours of work if you do a lot of interviews.
