CIPA’s October report is out

CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their October report (orange: 2019, black: 2018, blue: 2017, click for larger view): For the month: DSLR units shipped: 429K units (24.2% below same month last year. September was 453K.) Mirrorless units shipped: 445K units (highest of the year and 2.3% above same month last year.  September was 418K.) Compact units shipped: 597K units (23.6% below same month last year.  September was 621K.) Calendar year to date: DSLR Units  -33% DSLR Shipped Value -42% Mirrorless Units -8% Mirrorless Shipped Value +5% Compact Units -21% Compact Shipped Value -17% Lenses for smaller than 35mm Units -27% Lenses for smaller than 35mm Shipped Value -25% Lenses for 35mm and larger Units -13% Lenses for 35mm and larger Shipped Value -2% Mirrorless unit share (of Mirrorless + DSLR) 45.3% (was 37.5% YTD last year) Mirrorless Shipped Value share 60.7% List of participating CIPA companies can be found here.
