Canon Confirms Development of Full-Frame EOS R3 Mirrorless

Plus, three new RF lenses. Canon has confirmed the EOS R3, a new flagship professional camera along with three new lenses, the RF 100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USM, RF 400mm F2.8 L IS USM, and RF 600mm F4L IS USM. Not much is known about the Canon EOS R3 in terms of specs, but Canon says it will join the current lineup of the EOS R full-frame mirrorless series and will "usher in a new category to the EOS R system" that will fit between the 8K EOS R5 and EOS-1D X Mark III cameras. It's said the camera will "put great emphasis on superb AF performance and speed" to match the demand pro shooters. The camera will tout Canon's first full-frame stacked CMOS sensor with a back-illuminated design, a sensor design similar to what we see in the Sony Alpha 1 and Nikon Z9. The new sensor is expected to produce less rolling shutter and offer continuous electronic shutter still-image shooting at speeds up to 30fps with full Dual Pixel CMOS AF and auto exposure.
